On Friday 9th September at the Nare Hotel, Veryan, nine Tregony
veterans who saw action at home and abroad during World War II were
treated to a celebratory lunch in grateful aknowledgement of the vital
part they all played in securing our freedom from the grip of Nazi
oppression. The object of the lunch was to thank not only those who
fought in the services, but also those who played vital roles supporting
the war effort.
Special thanks were given to Bernard Richards, whose terrier-like
determination secured a grant from the National Lottery to fund the
lunch, and Cllr. Joy Flloyd-Norris who acted as secretary for Bernard.
