LIAM AND GERALDINE DORCEY
LIAM & GERI DORCEY - Glass Artists Liam & Geri live and work on the beautiful Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall. Their glasswork is kiln formed, with inclusions of flame worked and hand blown pieces fused together to make one whole and exclusive piece of work. The shaped pieces are continually worked upon and can take as long as seven days to make, returning several times to the kiln, after which each piece is signed. The colours and forms used are chosen to represent the diverse and beautiful coastline near their home, with some pieces depicting the sea with harbours and marinas together with the jostling of sails and rigging, whilst other pieces are based upon the countryside, the beach and the sky. Each piece is a unique work of art with no two pieces the same. Liam and Geri have had their work described as ‘technically superior’ in an arts magazine and have just been awarded the prestigious Three Spires Blue Riband for work entered in the Cornwall Art Fair at Falmouth Art Centre. They are continually exploring new avenues and techniques, with a large dose of lateral thinking and downright tinkering which can produce startling results. Currently they are exploring the possibilities presented by recycling domestic glass waste. See our website at Paint Potential |
